Last Chance to See is a marvellous book by one of our greatest sci fi authors Douglas Adams. It is only a couple of hundred pages long but is full of wit and comedy as well as an obvious love for the endangered poor creatures (well maybe not the komodo dragon) that he gets to see with Mark Carwardine/5().

Last Chance to See is a wonderful book by the late Douglas Adams. It is not Science Fiction. It is his account of his travels around the globe to observe some of the planet's most endangered species.

Oddly, this mirrors my experience with the first Last Chance To See, a book by Adams and Carwardine published in which sat on my shelf for several years before I read it and was somehow surprised that my favorite writer of science fiction comedy could also be funny writing about endangered species/5.
